Firemen’s Funeral Next Week

Firefighters who lost their lives in the fire and the subsequent collapse of the Plasco Building in downtown Tehran last week will be laid to rest next week. The funeral procession for the fallen firefighters was first planned to be held on Thursday at the University of Tehran, ISNA reported. It was postponed as five new bodies, all firemen, were found on Wednesday, taking the casualty toll to 11 so far, including eight firemen and three other victims that are believed to be business owners. One firefighter lost his life to severe burns on the day of the incident on January 19. Eight firefighters and nine others still remain buried. The bodies of firefighters will be buried next week at the Martyrs Section of the Behesht Zahra Cemetery in southern Tehran.
