During the first nine months of the current year that ends in March, around 20 divorces were registered every hour, of which six were uncontested divorces, according to figures released by the National Organization for Civil Registration (NOCR).
During the period, 135,667 divorces were registered in the country, an increase by 9.8% compared to the same period last year (122,340), Salamat News Agency reported.
The average Iranian marriage has decreased to three years, and only 11% of Iranians have the chance to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary.
