Digital technologies for dental implant treatment, modern porcelain veneer techniques, new methods of dental surgeries, and digitalized radiography are among the topics to be discussed at the 11th Congress of Iranian General Dentists (January 11-13), at Milad Tower’s Conference Hall. The best time for removal of wisdom teeth is between the ages 17 and 25, said Alireza Jahangirnia, scientific secretary of the congress. “In the past, the costly wisdom teeth extraction surgery was covered by the Social Security Organization insurance, “but now the SSO has removed it from insurance cover,” IRNA quoted him as saying. According to Iranian Medical Council (IMC), there are 24,000 general dentists and 2,000 dental specialists in the country.
