Twelve Iranian universities of medical sciences have been listed in the latest ranking of Essential Science Indicators (2016 universities ranking) which were finalized in November, and published recently. Iran University of Medical Sciences, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, and Shahid Beheshti University are among the universities listed. Zahedan University of Medical Sciences in Sistan-Baluchistan Province has made it to the list of over 800 for the first time, the Health Ministry’s news agency Webda reported. Established by Thomson Reuters Corporation, ESI ranks top countries, journals, scientists, papers, and institutions by field of research based on citations at ISI Web of Sciences.
