Head of the Department of Environment Masoumeh Ebtekar has been conferred the Italian Minerva Award 2014, the website for the presidential deputy for woman and family affairs reported.
The Minerva Foundation in a statement said the award will be conferred on Ebtekar for her “outstanding organizational role and her commitment and integrity in her duties,” Mehr news agency reported.
The nongovernmental award was established in 2009 and has been presented to well-known figures active in different social, economic, political and cultural fields. The recipients have been mainly women. One of the prizes awarded is called ‘Company of Knowledge’ which seeks to recognize women who have achieved “a positive place for their professional competence.”
