The Citizen Rights Charter will constitute a roadmap and a government program announcing citizen rights for all Iranians as well as developing, implementing and supervising the implementation of the rights, said the deputy for human rights and international affairs at the Judiciary. “Realizing the document must be addressed by the public authorities and people alike,” Mohammad Abbasi told IRNA on Saturday. The draft of the document was proposed by the government in 2013 and the charter is to be unveiled at a ceremony by President Hassan Rouhani in the coming days. Elham Aminzadeh, special assistant to the president in citizenship rights, says the charter “draws a clear perspective of the rights of citizens, which are dispersed in a large number of laws, and opens the door for them to be acquainted clearly with their political, legal, economic, cultural and social rights.”
