More than 30,000 urban and rural residential units will be renovated by the end of the current fiscal year in March 2017, said Ebrahim Baziyan, director general of the Housing Department at Imam Khomeini Relief Committee (IKRC). “Also, 17,000 new residential units will be constructed and allotted to 17,000 households under coverage of the committee by the end of the year,” ISNA quoted him as saying.  Currently, 1.7 million households are under the coverage of the IKRC, including one million headed by women.  IKRC was established in 1979 to aid the underprivileged, alleviate poverty and help the needy become self-sufficient.
