The State Welfare Organization’s top priority is to improve urban accessibility for the disabled, said its head Anoushiravan Mohseni Bandpei. “To facilitate and encourage social engagement among the physically-challenged, the SWO is improving environmental accessibility for the disabled on priority,” he said at a function on Sunday, on the occasion of the UN International Day of Persons with Disabilities observed globally on December 3. The matter is being pursued by the SWO Secretariat for Improving Environmental Accessibility by sensitizing state and non-governmental organizations towards the problem, the municipalities in particular.”Providing appropriate employment, housing, and rehabilitation services are also on the agenda,” Bandpei said, Borna News Agency reported.
