CO Poisoning

According to a report by the Legal Medicine Organization (LMO), carbon monoxide poisoning, known as the ‘silent killer,’ has killed 53 people in Tehran Province in the first seven months of the current year (started March 20). Figures released by the Statistical Center of Iran said 2007 was the deadliest year for CO poisoning with 1,024 deaths reported across the country, salamatnews.com reported. In order to prevent CO poisoning, households should get all the heating devices that work with fossil fuel inspected at least once a year. Carbon monoxide is a toxic gas, but as it is colorless, odorless, tasteless, and initially non-irritating, it is difficult to detect.
