Iran Health Minister Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi is in China to participate in the World Health Organization’s 9th Global Conference on Health Promotion (Nov. 21-24) in Shanghai.
He arrived in the city in eastern China on Monday at the head of a high-ranking delegation from various departments under the Health Ministry, IRNA reported. Hashemi is scheduled to visit the 1,200-bed hospital in Suzhou city, and meet with his counterparts from other states before delivering his speech on Tuesday. His speech will focus on how progress on SDG 2 (zero hunger) can be accelerated by strengthening good governance for health through action across government sectors.
The conference will review the experiences in engaging in the ‘Health for All, All for Health’ theme, and discuss how promotion of health plays a crucial role in sustainable development. Over 750 high-ranking government officials from member countries are taking part in the conclave.
