Labs to Check Food Safety

The Food Safety Research Center of Iran will set up 13 specialized laboratories to screen food products across the country, announced head of the Food and Drug Administration on Tuesday. “The laboratories will start functioning by the end of the current Iranian year in March 2017,” said Rasoul Dinarvand at the launching ceremony of the National Food and Food Contaminants Screening Scheme in Tehran, ISNA reported. The labs would accelerate the process of checking, testing, and identification of food toxins, disseminate food safety information, and provide science-based solutions to problems impacting food safety. The Food Health Research Center of Iran was established in 2013 in cooperation with the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology.
