During the first half of the current year (started March 20) Iranian philanthropists have contributed 7.8 trillion rials ($216 million) to the country’s health system, said Dr. Seyed Mohammad Hadi Ayazi, deputy health minister for social affairs on Wednesday. “Last year, 10 trillion rials ($277 million) was donated to the national health sector,” IRNA quoted him as saying. “Philanthropic contributions by way of money and time help us serve more patients, turn our research into new treatments and educate more specialists and physicians,” he added.
