Heavy rainfall and hail on Monday between 6 pm and 10 pm caused 88 roads mishaps in different parts of Tehran and damaged power lines with trees coming down in several neighborhoods. People and vehicles were stranded in long traffic jams for hours together.
The rains also left a woman missing in Pasdaran Street in the northern part of the capital, said Seyed Jalal Maleki, spokesman of Tehran Firefighting Department.
“The woman slipped and fell into a flooded storm water drain and the incident was reported to the department by people who witnessed it. Despite all the search efforts by rescue teams, the woman is still missing,” IRNA quoted him as saying.
