NGOs Confab on Addiction

The first conference of non-governmental organizations involved in prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of drug addicts will be held December 3-4 at Tehran’s Summit Hall. “The conference will focus on society-oriented approaches toward prevention and treatment of addiction,” said Mohammad Birjandi, director of public participation and NGOs at the Iran Drug Control Headquarters, ILNA reported. The conference will have three specialized panel discussions and educational workshops on ways the public can help prevent and control the scourge or help in rehabilitation of recovering addicts. The achievements of NGOs in employment and empowerment of affected families will also be presented.
