Creating Awareness on Strokes

In a joint project between the Iran Stroke Association, the Iranian Red Crescent Society, and medical students, underway at Tehran’s Mellat Park, a number of neurologists and emergency service technicians are informing the public on the causes for stroke, its prevention, and the treatments for side effects of stroke which leave many people disabled. “A number of pavilions have been set up that will showcase educational videos and distribute brochures to raise awareness on the country’s second leading cause of death,” said secretary of the association, Dr. Masoud Mehrpour, IRNA reported. Free blood pressure and blood sugar tests are also being done.
