An earthquake measuring 3.8 on the Richter scale on Tuesday jolted Murmuri in Abdanan County, Ilam Province in southwestern Iran. There was no report of casualties or damages.
A day earlier, a 3.1 magnitude quake had jolted Murmuri, Alef News Agency reported.
In 2014, a 5.6-Richter earthquake in Murmuri caused major damage to buildings, but no one was killed. Iran sits astride several major faults, making it prone to frequent earthquakes, many of which have been destructive.
