Tax Exemption for Science Parks

The Ministry of Science and Technology is negotiating with municipalities to exempt all science and technology parks as well as knowledge-based companies from paying land tax.

“We reached an agreement with the municipalities across the country to exempt science and technology parks and knowledge-based companies from paying tax, but some are still facing problems in this regard,” deputy minister of science Vahid Ahmadi told Mehr News Agency.

He said a bill has been sent to the Majlis to reduce the tax on all R&D projects in the country to 5% from the 10%-20% in the current tax regulations.

There are nearly 25 science and technology parks and over 2,500 knowledge-based companies across the country.
