Influenza vaccination is free for patients with hemophilia, thalassemia and renal diseases or those who underwent transplantation or are on hemodialysis.
Also Intensive Care Unit (ICU) staff, service workers, street cleaners and prison staff will receive free flu vaccination, Mahmoud Nabavi, deputy director of the health ministry’s department for controlling contagious diseases said, reported ILNA.
Flu vaccination is also recommended for people 65 years and older, diabetic patients, individuals who have received chemotherapy and patients with heart, kidney and liver diseases.
There are three types of flu vaccine in the country and all have been approved by the World Health Organization (WHO).
