35 Domestic Nano Health Products

Iranian knowledge-based companies have so far managed to produce 35 different nano health products locally, said the director of Human Resources Development Working Group at Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council (INIC) Saturday. “Over 2,000 knowledge-based companies in Iran are active in the field of nano health products, and most of the products are medication for various hard-to-treat diseases such as cancer,” said Seyed Mehdi Rezayat, Mehr News Agency reported.  The products include a nano drug that is effective in treating fatty liver disease as well as SinaDoxosome, an anticancer medication. “Nearly 15,000 vials of this medication have been sold in the country and doctors are satisfied with its quality,” Rezayat said. A second anti-cancer nanodrug is expected to get permit from the Health Ministry and enter the domestic markets this year at prices much lower than its foreign equivalents, he added.
