About 400-500 illegal Afghan immigrants are identified across Iran by the Law Enforcement Forces and returned to Afghanistan on a daily basis, said Afghan Minister of Refugees and Repatriations Sayed Hussain Alimi Balkhi, on Sunday. “Also, an average of 5,000 Afghan refugees return home from Pakistan every day due to hardships and the living pressures in that country,” he told IRNA in Kabul. He said a session is to be held at the UNHCR, the United Nations refugee agency, to address the plight of Afghan refugees in Pakistan. “Among the over seven million Afghan immigrants living in various countries across the world, six million are in Iran and Pakistan,” said Alimi Balkhi.
