Workplace Mishap Deaths Reduce

The number of fatalities in accidents at the workplace has seen a 17% reduction in Tehran Province in the first six months of the current Iranian year that began in March, compared with the same period last year, according to the head of Tehran Legal Medicine Organization. “A total of 130 workplace accidents leading to fatalities were reported to the organization in the first half of the year, which indicates a 17% decline compared with 157 in the corresponding period last year,” said Masoud Qaderi Pasha, IRNA reported. Among those who lost their lives, 128 were men and two women. Last year, 1,500 people lost their lives in job-related accidents across the country. Most of the deaths were in the construction sector. The highest percentage of fatalities occurred in the age group 25-34 years.
