A total of 28 new schools with 183 classrooms were inaugurated on Wednesday, September 28, across Khuzestan Province by the Barekat Foundation, said Mohammad Mokhber, the president of Setad, a special office for executing the decrees of Imam Khomeini in helping the underprivileged.

“Funds to the tune of $5 million were allocated for construction of the school projects,” IRNA quoted him as saying.

The schools, a gift from the Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei to the underprivileged regions on the eve of the new school year (started September 21), were built in cooperation with the Organization for Renovating, Developing and Equipping Schools, and supervised by Barekat.

Barekat is dedicated to creating entrepreneurs, building schools and infrastructural facilities in remote and underdeveloped regions. It is affiliated to the Setad.
