Parents of school children are unhappy about the recent plan to mark a four hour cut per week in the working hours of teachers with 20 or more years of experience. The head of the Education Department of Tehran Counties told ISNA the reduction in working hours should not affect the academic curriculum in any way; else this would be a violation of the rules. Alireza Kamarei said any gap in the hours should be filled by either a “substitute teacher or the school principal.”
