The Imam Khomeini Relief Committee is executing a plan to support female heads of households “to promote a culture of matrimony and start families.” Under the project, each breadwinner will be given assistance to the tune of 40 million rials ($1,150), and an interest free loan worth 50 million rials ($1,500), according to IKRC director general Mohsen Valiei. “Over 50,000 female heads of household are under the coverage of the committee,” he said, the YJC reported. Last year, a total of 3,500 marriages took place with the help of the committee, among which 252 were remarriages of female breadwinners.
