Tehran Waste Management Organization has plans to collect unused and expired medicines from homes in Tehran in the near future, said Hussein Jafari, head of the organization on Friday. “The measure is in line to help ensure public health safety and protect the environment,” ISNA quoted him as saying. Home-generated pharmaceuticals will be transported and treated as medical waste after collection. The organization will then segregate and dispose the waste using proper methods.
