The Health Ministry is planning to certify centers for cupping therapy across the country, said deputy health minister for traditional medicine. “Cupping therapy is one of the methods used in Iranian traditional medicine to treat certain medical conditions including inflammation, muscular pains, respiratory diseases, etc by improving blood flow in organs,” said Mahmoud Khodadoost, ISNA reported. Noting that the service tariffs and health protocols should be clearly communicated before launching the method nationwide, he said skin infections and rashes may occur in the case of using unsanitary and infected tools in the method.
