Reasearchers at Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council (INIC) have produced an active antibacterial packaging material with better chemical, bioactive and food preserving properties compared with previous qualities. Packaging is of great importance in food safety. An active pack is a pack that plays different roles in addition to protecting the entrance of external substances. These packs can improve the quality and efficiency of packaging and increase the safety of food using nanotechnology. They also have better chemical and thermal properties than the normal packs. According to the INIC website, the aim of the council is to regularly improve packaging material with stronger antibacterial agents and enable less use of artificial preservatives in foodstuff.
