The next round of National Population and Housing Census will begin in October. According to Mojtaba Abdollahi, deputy head of socio-cultural affairs at Tehran Municipality, this round will be conducted in two phases: online registration and door-to-door survey, ISNA reports. “Given the infrastructure for internet coverage across the country, 90% of the people are expected to register for the census,” said Nematollah Torki, head of the Tehran Provincial branch of the Management and Planning Organization. Up until 2011, the national census was conducted every 10 years, but was later decided to be held every five years. Funding for the national survey is provided by the Statistical Center of Iran. Those absent during the door-to-door survey will be contacted by phone at a later time, Mehr News Agency reported.
