Almost all cities in the northern Mazandaran Province were battered by winds blowing at speeds of 130 km/hr as well as torrential rain that lasted for about an hour and half on Friday morning, said Nourbakhsh Dadatashi, director general of Mazandaran’s meteorological office. “Power supply to several hundred homes in Mahmoudabad, Amol, Babol, Qaemshahr, Sari and Savadkouh cities was also disrupted. Further, the severe storm brought down several trees throughout the province,” IRNA quoted him as saying. Fortunately there were no reports of fatalities or injuries, he said. Temperatures in most of the provincial areas had fallen by 4-15 degrees.
