A passenger car fell through a giant hole that opened at a subway construction site in western Tehran on Thursday while another was suspended midway, leaving one person injured. The Peugeot 206 fell through the hole as the ground around a subway tunnel under construction caved in. The incident occurred near Sattari Highway, adjacent to the ‘Kourosh’ megamall and cinema complex in western Tehran, Khabaronline reported. The Tehran Metro and the Tehran Municipality have both refused to comment on the incident. Previously in June, a gas pipeline blast in Shahran neighborhood of northwestern Tehran left two dead. The explosion was due to the collision between drilling equipment at the project site near a subway station and an 18-inch gas pipeline.
