The first International women’s conference of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) of the 8 Islamic Developing Countries of Iran, Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria, Egypt, Bangladesh and Turkey in the field of women empowerment, especially in rural areas, began in Tehran’s Azadi Hotel on Monday (Nov 17), Mehr news agency reported. The conference is the first such meeting of D-8 countries in the field of rural women’s empowerment.
