There is no shortage of intravenous serum in the country, and the national demand is met through local production and imports, said head of the Food and Drug Administration Rasoul Dinarvand. “Recently there was some concern over shortage of IV fluids but the Health Ministry approved the import of 30 million bags of IV fluids,” he said, IRNA reported. There are five major production lines for IV fluids which meet a major part of the national demand for 120 million bags a year. So far this year (started March), six million bags have been imported, Dinarvand said.
