More than 60% of the elderly suffer from high blood pressure and 10% have serious symptoms like abnormal irregular heartbeat, said Dr Masoud Eslami, scientific secretary of the 18th international congress on recent advances in cardiovascular medicine. “New cardiovascular imaging methods including three-dimensional and four-dimensional ultrasound imaging techniques, and the use of three dimensional printers in diagnosis and treatment of heart diseases, are among the important subjects to be discussed at the congress,” IRNA quoted him as saying. Cardiologists from France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Czech and Slovakia, and the US will attend the congress which will be held September 14-17 at Tehran’s Milad Tower.
