A National Youth Assembly will be formed at the Ministry for Sports and Youth Affairs by the end of the current Iranian Year in 2017, said deputy minister Mohammadreza Rostami. “The ministry has three high-priority items on its agenda: establishing provincial Youth Committees, the Specialized Youth Networks across 31 provinces, and the National Youth Assembly,” he said, as reported by ISNA. This will help boost management of youth affairs on different scales and coordinate matters concerning youth in a more efficient manner among the competent state bodies. There is a new focus on youth matters since last year, because “we believe that the only way to bring about change in the current social and economic circumstances of the young generation, is to empower them,” Rostami noted.
