Researchers at Yazd University have discovered an antibacterial nanomaterial that can be used as food preservative.
Antibiotics-resistant bacteria are a serious healthcare concern. Therefore, new antimicrobial materials, including antimicrobial nanoparticles are crucial and their applications are increasing every day.
“Results of the research will help preservation of food at cheap costs and higher safety,” said head researcher Ma’edeh Afzali, Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council reported.
Antibacterial effect of this material has been evaluated on the morphology of Escherichia coli and staphylococcus aureus bacteria. Results of the research have been published in the international Food Control Journal.
