The office for Development of Cognitive Sciences and Technology under the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology, will soon set up a Cognitive Studies Club for students to have a chance to explore the fields of study related to brain, cognitive sciences, and neurology. “Cognitive science is the new, interdisciplinary, and scientific study of the mind and its processes,” said head of the students’ committee at the office, Sina Tavakkoli, IRNA reported. The club, which takes the form of a summer school, will be held at Tehran’s Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences. More than 50 students per week will participate in courses for various fields relating to cognitive science including linguistics, neuroscience, artificial intelligence, philosophy, anthropology, and psychology.

He said the club will also have peripheral events including exhibitions and a knowledge contest.
