Researchers at Avicenna Research Institute (ARI) affiliated to the Iranian Academic Center for Education, Culture and Research have succeeded in producing a vaccine to prevent cancer in childhood. “Immunotherapy is a secure method for treating or preventing cancer. We have been trying to help the body react smartly to growth of cancer cells and control or kill them,” said project manager Hojatollah Rabbani, ISNA reported.  The vaccine is made of protein anti-genes and has gone through the animal testing phase successfully. “If proven effective, the vaccine would be injected in neonates as is the case in the immunization program for many other diseases,” he said.
