Tehran taxis will soon display their driver’s identity information on the dashboard, announced Mehdi Ebrahimi, the technical deputy at Tehran Taxi Organization. “Once the project is fully operational, the driver display card must be clearly visible on the vehicle dashboard at all times when they are operating,” he said, ISNA reported. The measure will be a reassurance for passengers and make it easy to report violations to responsible authorities. The project will cover all 80,000 taxis that ply the capital’s clogged streets by the end of the current Iranian year in March 2017, Ebrahimi said. Information would include the driver’s name, ID card number, driver license number, and the zone in which the driver should operate.
