National Brain Mapping Lab

The National Brain Mapping Laboratory was inaugurated on Monday in the presence of First Vice-President Es’haq Jahangiri at the Technological Faculties Campus of Tehran University.

This is the first phase of the national laboratory and is ready for operation. It is equipped with facilities worth $4 million, Mehr News Agency reported. A consortium of academic centers and research institutes, the laboratory is affiliated to the Ministry of Science and Technology, and supported by the Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology. Its board of trustees includes Health Minister Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi and Vice-President for Science and Technology Sourena Sattari.\ The national lab will help meet the country’s needs in terms of research and technology for brain mapping techniques, offer knowledge-based services and produce up-to-the-minute information in the field of cognitive science.
