The death toll in the recent floods in Kerman and Sistan-Baluchestan provinces has risen to 10. Heavy rains for a week (July 26- August 2) also caused massive damage in 20 counties in seven provinces namely Sistan-Baluchestan, Fars, Kerman, Golestan, Semnan, Khorasan Razavi and South Khorasan, Alef News Agency reported. “So far, four deaths, including that of a pregnant woman, were reported from Kerman, while six persons lost their lives after drowning in the overflowing rivers in Sistan-Baluchistan. Around 23 people were rescued by the Iranian Red Crescent Society from a flooded river in Iranshahr in Sistan,” said Rashid Parsaee, governor of Mehrestan County.
