Containing Hepatitis C

At a seminar on ‘Eliminating Hepatitis C by 2030’ held at Iran University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, health officials and representatives from relevant organizations  discussed the latest achievements in prevention and treatment of the disease. “Eliminating Hepatitis C by 2030 demands national will and determination, and cooperation among all state and non-state bodies including the Health Ministry, NGOs, and health insurance providers,” said Dr. Seyyed Moayed Alavian, head of Iran Hepatitis Network (IHN). A stamp, designed for the 2030 target was also unveiled, IRNA reported. There are approximately 200,000 – 300,000 people suffering from Hepatitis C in Iran.
