In addition to the national document on prevention and control of non-communicable diseases, the Health Ministry has prepared a list of proposals to be executed by various competent state bodies in a bid to lower the rate of premature deaths, said Health Minister Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi. “The proposals will be presented to the Supreme Council of Health in the presence of President Hassan Rouhani in the coming days,” he told IRNA on Wednesday. Pointing to the high rate of fatalities from traffic accidents, Hashemi said plans to reduce road collisions are on top of the agenda. Cooperation among all ministries is needed for successful implementation of the proposals. “In light of our responsibility for public health, we have planned special meetings with various executive bodies, and the first session is to be held with the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development next week,” he said.
