As of the next academic year (September 23) technical and vocational training will start from elementary schools, announced Labor Minister Ali Rabiei. “The directive has been sent to all primary schools and courses will be undertaken by the Technical and Vocational Training Organization,” he said, the Persian language daily ‘Iran’ reported. Up till now, such programs were offered in the second grade of high schools. Rabiei said the measure aims to bestow on students practical skills from an early age and make it easier for them to choose their career later on in life. Establishing career education parks where school children can get to know different professions is on the ministry’s agenda. The measure has been effective in other countries, the minister said.
