Councilwoman Rues ‘Lack of Teen Entertainment’

A city council member says there “are not enough entertainment facilities for teenagers” in Tehran. Masoumeh Abad referred to the recent initiative to make Tehran a ‘’child-friendly’’ city and said more effort is needed to fill the lacuna in adolescent entertainment facilities.

She outlined some of the works undertaken to promote involvement of children and said several areas including road traffic, transportation, urban planning and urban green space were targeted in the plan, “but only educational campaigns were successfully launched”

She further said, ‘’We have ordered that the equipment used in children’s playgrounds be made of plastic instead of iron, and to pave the areas with soft asphalt.’’
