A group of Iranian researchers from Tehran’s Tarbiat Modares University and Sharif University of Technology have synthesized a scaffold with optimal properties to repair damaged muscle tissues by using graphene and producing polymeric nanofibers. “A suitable environment was provided for conducting the research by using conductive polymers, graphene nanosheets and graphene oxide for growing muscle cells outside of the body,” said Simzar Hosseinzadeh, the project manager, Mehr News Agency reported. He said the production costs for these scaffolds are much lower than similar models.  The project has just completed its lab trials and will soon enter the in vivo animal trial phase.
