Iran has surpassed Switzerland and Canada in SJR (Scientific Journal Rankings) 2015 Ranking on journals in dentistry, and is currently ranked 12 globally. “Iran has moved up two spots in the 2015 SJR Country Rankings in dentistry and currently ranks 12th, ahead of Switzerland, Sweden, Canada, Spain, and Australia,” said Saeid Asgari, secretary of Iran’s Oral Health Council at the Health Ministry. The United States, Brazil, United Kingdom and India are ranked the top four countries having produced over 1,000 articles in the field. Iran produced 232 documents in 2015. The country’s overall ranking has remained unchanged (16th) since 2014.
