In a meeting between the Indian ambassador to Tehran and chancellor of Tehran Universit, the two sides discussed ways of expanding scientific and academic cooperation. “It is Iran’s policy to boost international cooperation and we welcome scientific ties with Indian academic centers,” said Chancellor Mahmoud Nili Ahmadabadi in his meeting with Ambassador Saurabh Kumar on Saturday, Mehr News Agency reported. “We are ready to sponsor a researcher and professor from the University of Tehran to India for a specified study period in the field of Indian studies. Our previous cooperation was with the Faculty of Literature and Humanities and the Faculty of World Studies in Iran,” Saurabh Kumar said, adding that the University of Tehran is welcome to take part in educational exhibitions that are held in India. Currently, between 5,000 and 6,000 Iranians are studying in India, he said. The Indian government also grants scholarships to foreign students.
