A supportive package for women in line with the Resistance Economy, has been devised and presented to the interior minister, said Fahimeh Farahmandpour, the minister’s advisor in women’s affairs. “The proposals focus on women’s activities, capacities and needs in the country,” she said, ISNA reported. Resistance Economy is a set of policies outlined by the Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei to bolster economic self-reliance and limit dependence on oil revenues. The package includes proposals for supportive, educational, and promotional policies that mainly seek to encourage women’s participation in national production, support domestic jobs and handicrafts, and raise awareness on reform in consumption patterns. “Once ratified, the package will be directed to all competent authorities in women’s affairs across the country,” Farahmandpour said.
