The production line of a new hi-tech anti-cancer drug will be inaugurated in the coming weeks, said Shams Ali Rezazadeh, deputy head of Iran’s Food and Drug Administration. “The drug docetaxel is used in treating different types of cancer,” he said, ISNA reported. Referring to the self-sufficiency in producing medicines for treating multiple sclerosis (MS) patients, he said the raw material for penicillin G is also being produced on an industrial scale for the first time in the country. The shortage of 270 types of pharmaceutical drugs in 2013 has now been reduced to less than 30.
