The 17th International and National Congress of Microbiology will be held August 23-25 at the Tehran University of Medical Sciences. Twelve foreign scholars from France, Spain, Germany, Australia and the Netherlands will attend, said executive secretary of the congress Abbas Ali Imani Fouladi, Borna News Agency reported. The congress will discuss topics including zoonotic diseases and veterinary microbiology, autoimmune diseases and bacterial infections, food, water and wastewater microbiology, emerging and reemerging diseases and epidemiology of infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, and microbial vaccine and clinical microbiology. Scientific workshops and an exhibition are also planned on the sidelines.
